The Karma We Don't Have To Work For

Image
The kind of karma we don't have to work for I recently had the privilege to take a trip to a city I loved and been to a handful of times; yet this trip was slightly different because it was for something familiar (an event), although something I had never done before (new people, new company, new atmosphere). I love traveling, so there was no worry there.  I love cities, and the exploration is always fun.  I also love events and talking with people and chances to meet new people; a nd so, I was excited all around! This trip was coming at a time in life where it was gladly welcomed to break up some monotony; so my bags were packed a day early and on the plane I went excited for a weekend away full of possibilities!  " Who will I meet? " I wondered. " What stories will I hear? " " What adventures will I get into? " I boarded the plane with endless possibilities and my joy sky high.  Excited for the adventure ahead; I hailed my cab(aka ...

UNbroken: How to not let your past define you

There was a quote I stumbled across in the feed of instagram.  Not just the quote hit me, but the image was of a girl in the midst of a run.  You could tell she was on the move somewhere.  In a strange sort of way, you were drawn into the picture as you wanted to know where she was headed...   She was clearly headed somewhere. . .  The quote read:  UNBROKEN:  She does not let her past define her Now, I wouldn't necessarily let my mind wonder off into the depths of analyzing where I am going by just the image but this time it got me thinking based off the quote with the word UNBROKEN.   I started thinking more about life and where I was in terms of letting the past define me and the places of brokenness from my past that were still impacting me or not.   Spring has settled in but if you take a moment to think about the way people make resolutions each year after year, what is it they have in common?  Typically, its something...

You have been And You will be You have seen And You will see You know when I rise and when I fall When I come or go, You see it all You hung the stars and You move the sea, And still You know me And nothing is hidden from Your sight Wherever I go, You find me And You know every detail of my life And You are God and You don't miss a thing Whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh, You know me.... You memorize me <--- listen while you read;) Ever have one of those days you seem to question everything? Today was one of those days. " What am I doing? Why did I leave that gig? I know it wasnt what I was called to, but it would have been better than this or where Im at currently..." Actually, funny enough though, it started out as one of those "I'm going to conquer the world" days as there were brilliant options before me, I was looking into. Ha. Having a little fun looking up some ideas on the web, letting your mind spin and creatively ...

Steppin Out from the Ring

I’ve noticed I’ve been lacking inspiration.  Perhaps even feeling. Maybe, I’m actually numb.  Is it possible to be numb and actually know that you’re numb?  Or is that just something someone else notices when you don’t cry at a Hallmark commercial or when American Idol is chosen and it’s the one who’s overcome the most and triumphed over their upbringing in the hood?  Perhaps it’s a little of both. Its not like I don’t cry. I have my moments when I listen to the radio and hear an overwhelming story about how the Lord saved a teacher and her students from the tornados of OK that just demolished an entire school! – She leaped across her students yelling “we’re gonna be fine, Lord protect us! ” as the kids were screaming in terror and one little guy yells to his teacher “I love you! Please don’t die, I love you! ” – Um, how can you NOT tear up at that story???   But perhaps it’s a bit deeper. Perhaps it’s a bit more personal. Perhaps it’s my guard? ...
